Remember I Was Happy As A Kid

Remember i was happy as a kid
everything was beautiful
everything was perfect in my head

when playing Nintendo was the hardest thing to do,
when Pokemon ruled the world,

i needed no shelter
when i felt cold was because it was winter
running & jumping was the only reason i felt weak
the only reason i hid was playing hide & seek

when tripping over things was the only reason i had tears
evil cartoon characters were my biggest fears
when the only thing that made me cry was skinned knees,
the only reason i screamed was telling my brother not to be a tease
yet we had fun together,inside or outside in any weather

when sleeping after 1:00 am was cool
when life was fair no-body was a fool
when hypocrites didn't really exist
what was on my mind was on my lips

when a cartoon character dies was the saddest day of my life
& sleeping with mom & dad if i get scared at night
the only times it was dark was coz mom turned off the light
when i did everything wrong & yet it was so right

when the summer lasted forever,
i believed in real life heaven
when i was depressed.... was never
nothing was shattered,nothing mattered.

to relive at least one day
to walk again in the same old way
i'd trade tomorrow for yesterday .
