Addiction

by eric   Aug 22, 2007

Black lungs
and bitter taste buds on tongues

chemical used throats
the aftermath of depressing notes

kids crying out because of addiction
trapped in this world in which they wish was fiction

brain damage from acid licking
they want to forget the past but the memories are sticking

mentally unstable from parents beatings
sick of medication and councellor meetings

bored of what they had so they try something new
this is where they really went wrong and the addiction grew

it was never supposed to get like this, it was just for fun
said they could never get addicted and one day they'd be done

just wanted to forget what was around them and go to a better place
now they've amounted to nothing and left their friends disgraced

dead-beats, is that what you would call it?
crack-cocaine addicted men with empty wallets

ending their life on the streets pushing a shopping cart
begging for a second chance for a fresh start

wheres gods helping hand when you need it the most
or is it his way of punishing them for the life they chose?

always have a positive outlook, i guess thats all you need
no matter how much you suffer or might have to bleed

stay away from dangers and dont be so weak minded
addiction is in all of us so dont be blinded
