The Echo of The Night

by Beauty In The Breaking   Aug 22, 2007

As the tears fall from my golden eyes
and fall through the moonlit night
they turn to precious silver
and glitter on the ground.

The sound of the stream flowing by me
and the hoot of the nighttime owl,
I wrap my wings around myself
and look up at the sky.

The moon, so round and bright
against the velvet night,
the stars twinkle with a thousand colors
and a star shoots across the sky.

I look at the stream flowing so calmly,
it's a perfect silver mirror,
look and see into your very soul
and remember who you are.

The wind slowly starts to blow
a chilly northern breeze,
I wrap my feathered wings around me tighter
and look for the inner strength.

I rise to my feet oh so slowly
and turn to face my home,
nothing is ever solved in the world
if we hide and run away.

This is my world, the world of night
and the tears I cry are for it,
the night is crying out to you, Oh mortals
but you fear to hear the call.

Open your heart to the echo
of the call of the twilight within
and follow it out to the woods with me
and help me heal it's wounds.

I like the flow of this piece very much. Whole poem is greatly written, with excellently created dark atmosphere. The imagery in it is very vivid.
    The ending is effective.
    My favorite stanza is:

-The moon, so round and bright
    against the velvet night,
the stars twinkle with a thousand colors
and a star shoots across the sky.-

    Keep up, 5/5 from me

Incredibly written poem! You have one mistake in the third stanza, you used word -sky- two times and that destroys flow. I like the topic, atmosphere is amazing and it is really haunting. Last two stanzas are greatest.
    Well done 5/5
