Lifesavers

by QuietDreamer   Aug 23, 2007

I awake each morning
without you by my side.
Why'd you have to leave me
Alone I am forced to suffer.

After you departed
a piece of me left with you,
Leaving an empty hole within my heart.
The only trace you left behind
was the pack of lifesavers half eaten.

I awake each morning and eat two,
one for me, and the other for you.
