In The Grass

by Anna La Fleur   Aug 23, 2007

Time passes
Neither of us care
We've wrapped ourselves in a blanket
A blanket made of stars
We lay there on the grass
Holding each other and talking
This is my safe place
The only place I want to be
Talking, laughing, sighing
Wishing I didn't have to go
And wishing you could go with me
And wondering what might have been
If things were different
If only they could be
We slowly walk into the house
Gather my things
And then I'm gone
We pray we'll see each other again soon
Someday
One last hug goodbye
You walk back to the door, and try not to pine
One day, I know, we'll both be fine
