Under The Surface

by 19Rusty   Aug 23, 2007

I won't say sorry for bothering you this long,
not goodbye for the next time we meet will
be an eternity long, you'll understand after
each passing sun.

Don't think of time, only of how we will
spend the rest of it, but before you try to do
this I'll be holding you by the end of the night,
and we already know when that happens
throw your watch to the side, curfew is just
a word and words become meaningless
when all you need is lips and deep eyes.

You know I love you with every fiber of life
that is stored in me, and every word that
comes out of my mouth spoken, but my hands
continue to shake, and I have to use anything
just to stop myself from deepening wounds
that tore us apart.

Just listen to the quotes and soft words I once
put in your ears, let me say some more,
did I hurt you in any emotional way that
breaks into something I can care for the better.

I sleep in agony of waking, walk around on the
horror of fading in your heart and mind, falling
off the ground we grew, and going with something
that keeps it all green.
