Today is the day

by Aisha   Aug 24, 2007

Wake up to the soft sound of birds humming outside my open window,
The breeze passes through me and a smile spreads across my face.

Today is the day

I put on my dress, a long white dress that sparkles as i turn,
My earrings made of silver sparkling in time with the dress,
My necklace, so elegantly wrapped in a box, is draped around my neck to finish off the look.

Today is the day

I'm walked out down the aisle, all turn to look.
The bridesmaids look incredible shimmering along behind,

Now is the time

I see him standing there but he doesn't look happy, he cannot catch my eye, he's going to walk away

Today is the day

Do you take ... to be your wife....
*Pause* "I'm sorry I can't"
and then he walks away, leaving me there my eyes sparkling with tears.

Today was the day
