Hypocrisy

by Michael D Nalley   Aug 25, 2007

The laws enforced by democracy
Freedom to express hypocrisy
Justice comes with a mighty heavy cost
Or else innocence is eternally lost

For every word that is freely spoken
There is a rule made to be broken
Human gods have mercy on me
While rebellion is all that they see

Feeling like just another toy
The golden rule we all enjoy
Was written in blood long ago
So that harmony and peace may grow

Is the bread of forgiveness not yet leaven
In the year of our Lord, two thousand seven?
To escape the stones we must carry a cross
Die to our selves in truth to avoid a loss

I loved this. Such a powerful and beautifully penned piece; the rhyme was flawless and the message was effectively delivered using some poetic tools. Well done :)

    Hi Michael

Does your brain ever rest? Dont you ever feel the urge to just talk rubbish? You seem to be constantly fighting a political and religious battle for the good of all mankind! Must be tiring - but at the same time very rewarding. :) You have my utmost respect that you dont waiver from your beliefs and that you are constant. Obviously, this poem on hypocrisy does not apply to you?!

Good write. You really do have the ability to make me think.

    All the best
