A Poem For The Fab Four

by Nowhere Man   Aug 25, 2007

When I was small, I would listen to Chuck Berry and learn to boogie,
then I heard Elvis and he made me go whoopee!
My father caught me and said "Son, listen to this. It's Jerry Lee."
Great balls of fire got me rolling like crazy.

Mother told me what happened to Buddy Holly.
Hopefully, he was able to get a ticket to heaven for free.
together with the others including Richie.
For me, they were heroes in that hippy shaky fifties.

But when I turned 14, I saw these four English guys on T.V.
I asked my brother "Who are they singing lazily?"
My Brother chuckled and replied facing me,
"They are John, Paul, George and Ringo,
calling themselves the Beetles with an "A" instead of E".

Suddenly, I felt something running down through my veins.
The music hit me like a hurricane.
From that time up to this moment and on
I'm stuck being madly addicted to their songs.
