Losing her love

by Ingrid   Aug 26, 2007

Driving home from what he knew,
to be his one and only love
He had not noticed her love had faded,
as bitterness grew

he gave her all that he could,
but it was not enough,
to keep the flame of love burning

So many nights she had spent alone yearning,
knowing he was with his family,
and although he tried his best to make her see,
and told her "you are the only one for me".....

He could not abandon his children...
Not able to choose between the two,
he lost the greatest love he ever knew

Note:
I made this poem for one of my dearest friends. The strongest man I know, in every meaning of the word.
He is without a doubt the best father in the world too, because he gave up his own happiness to give his children a good life.

A beautiful poem for a beautiful friend.. Though this poem is very sad it shines with the love that you have expressed.

Someone whom sacrifices everything for the happiness of his children is a true giver, a wonderful father and someone to be commemorated!
