Unraveled

I study the pieces of my broken heart
that i hold in my hands
how could this be the source of love
it doesn't look like anything special

i notice they are unraveling
right before my eyes
a piece falls on the floor
there goes another memory

slowly they slip through my fingers
and i lose another time
of when i carried a smile on my face
a time when i cared

never to be remembered

a memory of your face
drowns in a tear
i watch my life fall before my eyes

as time goes on i hold no more
this heart that was once whole
now its just an empty space
one that could never ever be filled...
