Vera Clara Buck

by JaM   Aug 26, 2007

When I think of you...
salty drops of water,
slowly fall against my cheek.

When I think of you...
my legs begin to rise-
to my chest, I bring my knees.

When I think of you...
I suddenly feel sharp pains,
stabbing deep into my heart.

When I think of you...
I wonder about our relationship,
were we close or were we apart?

When I think of you...
the sweet aroma of roses,
engulfs the air.

When I think of you...
I remember the deep colour,
of your short curly hair.

When I think of you...
I picture myself standing there,
all alone above your grave.

When I think of you...
I think about the words you would say,
"great grandchild of mine, be brave."

When I think of you...
I know in my heart,
that we'll be together one day.

When I think of you...
"Rest in peace Vera, with all my love"
are the only words I can say.

In loving memory of my deceased great grandmother, Vera Clara Buck-March 24, 2004.
