Flash of Light

by Aaron Deevers   Aug 27, 2007

I see a flash of light
That's all I see
Now somewhere I do not know
Everything is white
I feel that I am walking on air

I walk around exploring
See nothing but white
Now I see something shining
Shining in the far distance

I walk towards it
As I get closer it starts to form
I can't believe my eyes
Is it really what I see?

Pearly gates with the doors opened
Opened in the middle of all this white
How can this be?
It can't be my time to enter

As I approach I see a man
He's standing there at a stand
I walk up to him and ask 'is it my time'
As he looks up the gates start to close

He replies 'not yet, close but not yet'
The next thing I know is seeing a flashing light
A flashing light of an ambulance
As I look around I see rescuers
They're helping me out of my car

As they load me up
One of them says
'We almost lost you
Have an angel by your side'

After going over what I had seen
All that white and that man
I realized that I saw God

I will never forget his words
'Not yet, close but not yet'
I realized that life is too sweet
Too sweet to throw it away
I now thank him everyday
Everyday I get to see what is important in my life
My daughter, son, and my wife

~~ Not connected to me, I'm single and no kids. Just thought I'd clear that up. ~~

Im not sure what to make of this poem.

However I do like how 'you' got a second chance. A chance where you could look at the things dear to your life.

This flowed well, and got me thinking,
    well done,
    Elaine.
