People to do & Things to see

by SomewhereAmongThePieces   Aug 27, 2007

This is for all the people who have felt they have merely been put on a loved one's To Do list, somewhere between; Grocery Shopping and cleaning up the dog crap in the back yard.

I'll smile so you know this
I'm happy you've made time for me
All the while I'm wondering
Will I ever become a priority?
Do you know how much it kills me
When I watch you drive away?
I thrive on your every phone call
Even though you have nothing to say
With every day I don't see you
My heart sinks a little more
You tell me you love me so much
So how is being with me such a chore?
I know I'm a hassle, I can feel it
I've become some kind of obligation
Would it not be easier if I wasn't there?
But you chose to be in this situation
Now I don't know what I am to you
Am I a fool to invest in you so much?
I cannot read your feelings or thoughts
So I trust your words and loving touch
This all seems to be so obvious
But love has left me blind
So I'll wait for another Saturday
Because that day is mine
And I'll smile so you don't know that
I'll cry when you drive away
And I'll wonder when I'll see you again
Then beg God to make you stay.
