Mask

by Falling   Aug 27, 2007

Behind the mask,
Is a girl who could've gone far.
Behind the mask,
There's a girl with a fearful heart.
There's no smile on her face.
Behind this mask,
She goes to waste.
She wanders through the corridors alone.
She looks forward to the end of the day
When she can go home.
She thought she was used to it,
But she was wrong.
After a while,
It gets hard to be strong.
The day drags on,
The nights are long.
As she closes her eyes
And gets ready to fall,
She can't help but feel
A little bit small.
So insignificant, nobody cares,
Though, when they've been down,
She's been there.
