Wolf-Moon (Morning Has Died)

by Unrequited   Aug 27, 2007

I feel that whisper,
silver as ice.
it gives me chills,
a gray-water storm over the horizon.
that callous touch breaks my smile,
destroys this love within
these walls.

ash on the inside,
rainbows disappear.
the night kills my shadow,
the wolf-moon sheds a tear.
mornings have died
no sun shall be saved
my eyes have weakened,
glazed over by sorrow
frozen by midnight whispers...

i bathe in regret,
try to forget.
the waters baptize,
failing to cleanse me from sin.
filled with ash, i'm all alone
this wolf-moon reigns,
morning is no more
and all tears upon fallen grace
have stained my busted heart.

ash on the inside,
let the wolf-moon be my guide
whispers fill the air
as the sun sets one final time.

    !

I really like a lot of the phrasing/lines...

"that callous touch breaks my smile" like this one!

    and the end...

    Touching!
