Burnt Away on the Inside

Can you see?
The darker side of me
It can't and won't release me
Oh someone help me??

I can't go to sleep
In the darkest nights
'Cos I'd be compelled
To end my life

So I try and lie awake
Even though I can sense him here
He knows my every thought
Not to mention
My biggest fear

That fear is being captured
By the darker side of me
Who no matter how loud I plead
He just won't leave me be

Looks like I'll be living a life
With this shadowy figure
That will forever need my company
Incessantly telling me
To pull that trigger

Now can you see?
The darker side of me
That can't and won't release me
Oh...someone please help me??
