Nothing to Fear

by Beauty Within These Pages of Darkness   Aug 27, 2007

What should I think of,
Love, happiness, hope
They say to me my life should be filled with glee,
So what should I do with this rope.

Should I put it round my neck and hang myself
I should really feel happiness,
Prove yourself,
To those who put you down.

Those who try and nail ya,
And say that you're such a failure,
You can make something of your life,
What can I make of my life though?

The knife which I hold in my hand,
I hope it will release me from this god forsaken land,
I hold it to my wrists ready to slit,
Before I do though, I'll go for one last hit.

As I'm getting blazed,
Why are my hopes & dreams being erased?
Running down my left cheek is a tear,
I try not to, but all I'm thinking of is fear.

I try to fall asleep,
But I just lie here and weep
Oh god! Why do I feel sad?
I haven't done anything really bad.

I go back to thinking of those three words,
Love, happiness & hope,
I no longer want to be hated or judged,
Finally I find courage to throw away this rope,

Ignore those who put you down,
You're no longer going to frown,
Wipe away that tear,
Because really, you have nothing to fear.

People could really learn a thing or two from this poem. I really liked it because I think about suicide sometimes and that poem may actually help me over come those thoughts. Really awsome poem.
