Hopes and dreams

by Katie   Aug 28, 2007

Pouring through the photographs,
Of her wedding day,
The tears roll silently down her face,
Wondering what they say.

She so desperately wanted to look
like a beautiful bride,
Stunning and radiant, to make him proud,
But maybe somebody lied.

"Doesn't she look lovely",
"But isn't it a shame bout her size",
Maybe no-one uttered those words,
But thought them instead, she cries.

For deep down inside she knows,
her paranoia is playing a game
with her mind, although it whispers
so quietly, "isn't is a shame".

But why should she let it matter?
As the tears continue to fall,
Surely they can look outside the box,
And not make her feel so small?

For aside from the veil and dress,
from the flowers, hats and shoes,
The love shared between husband and wife,
Should be enough to remove the blues.

So, look at the memories captured,
Forever immortal for all to see,
That she was everything and more
Than she ever thought she would be.

A huge thank you to Catherine who helped me see that the beauty was in my smile and that no-one could take that away from me. You're a true friend and I love you.
K xx
