Love gone

A long time ago we shared something pure.
A love that was sweet and always could cure.

But then the day came when you turned away.
Something did happen on that dark gloomy day.

You walked out and didn't look back.
My heart was ripped out and just thrown on the track.

How could it be the love that we shared.
Had all been a lie just pretending to care.

After years of pain, I came to a day.
I packed up and moved to find a new way.

I arrived in a place so different and new.
Not knowing anyone I didn't think I'd get through.

But then came along- a very real man.
One who does hold me how no one else can.

You found this out and you got straight on the phone.
Oceans apart but you still had a tone.

Telling me that you had made a mistake.
A decision you say that just makes you irate.

But I look at it this way, you had just come along.
To make me appreciate a person like you for me is something so wrong.

You say that you love me but I'd never take you back.
My heart lies elsewhere and is much happier with that.
