Children at Play

by Natalie84   Aug 28, 2007

Back and forth they swing
Tiny feet fly through the air
Youthful chatter, cheerful giggles
Hearts of angels
Enchant the park

Underneath the summer sun
Young souls are at play
Carefree and innocent
Enthusiastic in their fun

Little youths soak up the rays
As they rule their sandy land
Tiny kings and queens
In their domain
Consumed in silly games

Amongst the excitement
Wishful eyes get lost in memory
Reminiscing the youthful days
I close my eyes
And there I see
Beneath the sunny skies
A little me, at play

**This poem was inspired by a day at the park with my niece and nephew as well as a friend and his daughter. It was definitely a beautiful day! :)

Oh Nat, this is just so precious, it brought back beautiful memories, not only of my own when they were little, but of myself as well. Thank you for that. Did you play along with the little ones? I would have been swinging and sliding right along with them, lol.... beautiful Nat!!
