Cruelty

by JaM   Aug 29, 2007

As I lay beneath the sheet of clouds,
gentle drops of acid water fall upon my skin.
Blank illusions flash before my eyes,
false hopes in my heart flutter within.

Deceived by the vivid portrayals of life,
intrigued by the mystery behind locked doors.
Dauntless within my search to satisfy my needs,
enlightened by an ominous core.

Dulled by the reality suddenly brought to,
wishing I could forever escape.
Unimaginably dark corridors leading away,
from the treacherous reality of childhood rape.

So desperately needed to disregard,
of such times forsaken.
Most don't make any mention of it,
I wish I hadn't be taken.
