I wish 4

by Samuel Houston   Aug 29, 2007

I wish I could change all the the hurt i caused

taking you for granted feelings mired in a fog

bringing back the trust and hugs before the fall

I wish their were words that I could say

to bring your innocence back for another day

tears streaming from what i have lost

Now eyes and heart are covered with frost

I wish I could protect you from all things bad

dying on the inside wishing for things I've had

Eroded and displaced in a time so vast

Who but God could correct our past

Why is love not enough to heal a wounded heart

maybe my love was doomed from the very start

I will not let go no matter how dark

Till I reach my true love's wounded heart

Well I was going to say that you made an excellent poem, but I reading Jordan's comment has made me change my mind.

    Nice poem, anyway!

    Take care,
