Letting you go...

by Jenni G   Aug 29, 2007

Never thought a warm heart could seem that cold
But then the pages began to fold
Stories I heard about you before
Warnings from others I ignored

Thought I could change your mind
So I could love you in time
I could have given you everything
But you were never the type to tame

I believed we could get through it all
Yet you stood numb and watched it fall
My cries have become a silent game
Loving you was a fighting shame

Now what must I do with a heart so full for you
Only if a cruel heart knew
But now you're just another soul
A soul I will forever let go...

Nice poem. I kinda felt what you meant ... it's really good. I can't write that simple. My poems are always meaningful, not simple ... and I'm only 12 ....
