Where is the meaning?

by Mo   Aug 29, 2007

Do you ever wonder?
Take your eyes off the path?
Or take time to listen
Or smell the green grass?

Do you peak over the fence
that engulfs your life?
Or peer in through the window
or cut out all the strife?

We are a lazy people
We stare down while we walk
The quick pace of heartbeats
The shallowness of talk

We buy fruit from the grocer
ripened with electrical lights
We want it all now
for the wrong reasons, we fight

Step back for a second
shade your eyes from the glare
broaden your shoulders
look further than a stare

Why do we encounter
only what's on our plates
We've been designed for brilliance
Yet we lock our own gates.

Wonderful Mo. So true how complacent we've become... It take strong and unique people to "broaden their shoulders" and make a change...
I enjoyed this one. Easy read, nice flow with a lovely message...

I was one of those peolpe. Sometimes it takes losing everything before your eyes open. Life's pleasures are the simplest things. Most of us don't know this until it is gone.
    Excellent job!
