The Queen of Broken Angels

by The Angel of Secrets   Aug 29, 2007

Chains bind me to my own existence,
Although I'm gone, to a certain distance.
They hold me back from letting go,
Scars around my wrist shall show.

I struggle toward the calming light,
Trying to break free, trying to fight.
But they bind me with the endless shadows,
They can all see me, I'm without clothes.

No one hears me, as I start to scream,
Fighting toward the light, the glowing beam.
I toss a look over my struggling shoulder,
Behind me the wind gets colder and colder.

The darkness makes the strangest noises,
With a million types of different voices.
They come closer and the chains gets stronger,
The light moves away, longer and longer.

My arms and feet become numb after fighting,
They smile to me, as it's all exiting.
One of the shadows hand me a sheet,
I put around my shoulder, with shivering feet.

I lower my head as they hand me my wings,
They speak of the coldest and hardest things.
I feel my ice heart turn into stone,
On my head they place the ice-cold throne.
