Her Daddy

by Kori   Aug 30, 2007

Downstairs she hears her Mummy and Daddy scream,
She wishes they'd stop fighting and that it was all a bad dream.
She hears Mummy leave the house,
She suddenly shrinks to the size of the mouse.
Daddy throws open the door,
It's the moment she fears so much more.
Her Daddy pins her to her bed,
Beating her and screaming "Your better off dead!"
Now she has another bruise,
Her Daddy has had too much booze.
One day Mr. Sill saw a mark,
She became scared and said she fell at the park.
She came home a few minutes late,
There was her Daddy, standing at the gate.
She sees a bottle in his hand,
She wants to be sucked into quick sand.
Later that night she tries to tell her Mom,
She explodes like a bomb.
"I don't believe those stupid lies!"
She runs to her room and cries.
Her Daddy storms up mad as can be,
"How dare you try to tell on me!"
He punches her tummy,
She thinks to herself Why don't you believe me Mummy?
One day she got brave and told Mr. Sill,
He assured her, "I'll help you, I promise I will."
He told her to call Kids Help Phone,
They told her she wasn't alone.
Her and Mr. Sill called some places,
She felt relived seeing some friendly faces.
Her Mummy felt awful for not believing her,
She said next time she would for sure.
Now shes hurt no more,
No longer beat and pushed to the floor.
She knows telling was really hard,
But now she can be herself, Beautiful and off guard.
If your a victim of abuse,
Tell someone, They'll give you help you can use.

If this is happening to you, TELL SOMEONE!

This didn't happen to me if your wondering, and Mr. sill is a random teacher i made up for this poem.

Bye bye,
Kori
