All Is Well Within Your Own Beauty

by Cooper   Aug 30, 2007

***Simply put: To my Uncle Rob***

Painting the highways of teenage ache
with the roses of angst and woe,
a lighter shade of crimson that would flow
from jagged fingerprints that force me awake.

And catching rays of a crying sun on my tongue,
a particular melodious tune the trees sung
devoured the sorrow left behind by my ravens.

They flew upon the morbid horizon of life,
tearing the beauty of wrinkled beauty like a knife,
and shedding coagulated blood all over my skin,
I wept in the shadows clutching my last smile,
yet mother's anguished screams were worthwhile.

Blackened stars sparkled dimly on my wrists,
and I released the moon slowly dying in my fists.

Like a spec of silver in a sea of black,
I was kissing the aftermath of a heart attack.
And on the morrow,
twisted and drunk with sorrow,
the wheels were back on track.

Huhm, this wasn't nearly as well done as the other.
    The flow was pretty good,
but it didn't catch my attention really.

Wow, this poem is so deep and excellently written,. with so many images withing, very vivid. I like the whole atmosphere it is somehow dark and amazingly created.
    My favorite stanza is:

-And catching rays of a crying sun on my tongue,
a particular melodious tune the trees sung
devoured the sorrow left behind by my ravens.-

Every line of this poem is simply touching and captivating.

    Well done, 5/5 from me.
