Blackout in the City

by david kessel   Apr 30, 2004

There was a black-out in the city
And, at first, I felt sad.
I could no longer watch TV or play with my computer.
But then, I went out and saw dark streets
And heard rain fall and wind blow.
I was in touch with the primeval all over again.
The clouds in the red sky
Would importantly float buy.
The raindrops would hammer my cheeks.
No artificial sounds would interfere...
It was primeval once again:
I was one with the elements
