He's Everything You'll Never Lack

by Ashes of a Black Rose aka Night Child   Aug 30, 2007

You see him and your world goes cold,
His eyes meet yours, you turn away.
Your mind goes back to times of old,
You have to let these feelings stray.

He passes by, your muscles tense,
Your racing heart begins to freeze.
A mem'ry numbing every sense,
Goosebumps form beneath your sleeves.

It all began some two years back,
When his touch surrendered you.
He was all you'd never lack,
And all you'd never do.

His hands were warm his heart was ice,
Hazel eyes held hints of steel.
His lips? For those, no words suffice,
They made all the lies so real.

He took your hand and led you on,
His charm was simply blinding.
In absent light, he was your dawn,
His needs just seemed so binding.

He wanted more, you gave no less,
With nothing in return.
Your choice was tainted, no contest,
Your will began to burn.

If you stood up, he raised his hand,
Give in, to keep him sane.
You feared to even take a stand,
And lived through all his pain.

"Please don't cry, I swear you're fine,"
The words he always said.
"You'll be fine (until next time)"
His hazel cold eyes read.

He promised he would never hurt you,
He deceived you, he deceived.
And after all Hell you've been through,
You believed him, I believed.

Now you see him two years later,
Begging you to take him back.
You now believe he's just a faker:
He's everything you'll never lack...

the whole poem I felt like that stanza because I could see it in my head, feel it in my heart. No words could describe the depth of how this poem affected me. I felt like it was me, parts of it that is. Great, fantastic, wonderful job!
