Broken Home

by Lynzie   Aug 30, 2007

The tears, yelling, and the fights
She no longer has anyone to hold her tight
He now remains close with the other girl
All of a sudden she is his entire world

One minute everything was fine
He was saying he would forever be mine
Then the next she is calling on the phone
Now all that is left is a broken home

A broken little girl the age of five
A girl whose dad walked out of her life
A mother trying to give all her daughter needs
A mother who wishes this isn't how it had to be

A girl who doesn't understand the facts
That daddy isn't ever coming back
A mother that is trying to simply make ends meet
Going to work, attending school, making sure there is food to eat

A mother who knows she can get through
A little girl there to say mom I love you
A mother who has become stronger from the past
A little girl whose love will always last
A girl that will one day learn the truth of her dad
But her mom will teach her not to be mad

She will learn to love him just the same
Even though he acted like it was a game
She will know about his new wife
But she will also know she is welcome in his life!
