Destiny

by Cheyanne   Aug 30, 2007

Thoughts swimming in my head
Paranoia taking over my soul,
Fear tightening it's grip
Depression taking it's toll,

My heart wears layers of sadness
My smile an affectionate lie,
My cheeks are a good example
of What it looks like when you cry,

Crowded by your shadow
Losing hold of my mentality,
Keeping the faith alive
While trying to shrink reality

Reminiscing through our dreams
counting which ones survived,
Trying to pull myself together
The strength within me hasn't arrived,

Sinking deeper as i go along
Still hoping for a brighter day,
Wondering where it all went wrong
Asking god why you couldn't stay,

Fate looking me in my face,
But my eyes not wanting to see
All the memories laying around,
The truth is now set free:

The love that i thought would last,
Was never really that strong
Just when i thought i found the one,
Destiny went and proved me wrong....

Strong ending, you start with a description of how you feel and build up the tension like that. This poem is complete, not a gathering of rambling thoughts. Love it
