Lovers Ghost

by FiFiFairy   Aug 31, 2007

The boy was alone,
Praying for salvation on his bedroom floor,
Begging God to give him her back,
Her beautiful heart to take the pain away,
He cried with his face buried in his mattress,
He held his face there until his tears subsided,
He felt like there was no air to breathe,
His heart was bleeding all alone,
That’s how everyday ended,
Him alone again in the dark afraid and cold,
Every night he felt his loss,
And he smelt her skin again,
He could see her hair,
And feel her hands and body close,
Her voice was again whispering in his ear,
And her laughter was echoing through the room,
Her heart was filling him with warmth,
She was his ghost,
Not dead for sure,
He saw her everyday and denied his heart loving her,
Running from her when he could never really hide,
Wondering if she felt the same every night,
Her blue-eyed wonder and love followed him everywhere,
Yet he was scared of it,
And yearned it,
The boy climbed back into bed,
The exhaustion of his daily fight finally flooded him,
And he fell asleep with his lovers’ memory playing over his face,
And her breath still on his neck.
