What Can I Do

by Carly Rose   Aug 31, 2007

I'm suffering in silence
My body shakes and shivers
As your fingers touch my skin
Mind, body and soul all knowing its wrong
But I continue still my body against yours
As we merge into one your body tenses
I'm awestruck in stillness thinking about him
I'm pulling away and your confused
But hes the guy who should be here
Hes the guy who deserves the truth
I'm crying with shame as I tell him all
He forgives me and holds me
Promises he'll catch me before I fall
My heart's beating faster as we run
Running from all the pain, fury and shame
I'm slowing down as they're gaining
You grab my hand and I get faster
The guns are fired and everything is black
The world is ripped from beneath us
I feel weak as my life is slipping away
My hand still in yours, I cry
I'm losing my life as you lose yours
They're all laughing and jeering as we're captured by death
Our bloodied corpses lying still on the concrete path
I'm still alive in spirit as you walk with me through clouds
Tears falling from my eyes as I'm lead away from you
Heaven or hell I just never knew
