Where Poetry Hides???

Where Poetry Hides?!?

Poetry hides deep down inside
Where nobody can see the real me
Poetry hides inside an open book
Filled with poetry that means a lot to me

Poetry hides behind a closed door
That leads to adventure that can be explored
Poetry hides through my faked smiles and unseen tears
So no one can see all the hurt and pain

Poetry hides through the laugh of my nieces
When I tickle their stomachs
Poetry hides in the apple pie
That I smell cooking in the oven

Poetry hides in the peppermint
That tastes like a cinnamon roll
Poetry hides through an open window
I can hear the wind whipping wildly

Poetry hides outside in the trees
Trees are giants in the sky
This is where I think poetry hides!

I had to write this poem for my 12th grade English class, on where I think poetry hides and it had to describe my life somehow. I hope you all like my poem!
