Memories

Memories
She could remember,
their first kiss.
How it was out under the moonlight,
is was sheer bliss.
She could remember,
when she said those words.
He never said them back,
just looked as if he hurt.
She could remember,
his gentle touch.
How he'd hold her hand,
stroking her thumb.
She could remember,
his great smile.
How she would always look,
just for a while.
She could remember,
when he left.
The coldness she felt,
as she slept.
She could remember,
those last words.
"I met a new girl, better than you",
she was so hurt.
Now she wishes she could forget,
as she sits on the floor crying.
She knew on the inside,
she was dying.
Now she sits here,
thinking of him.
And all the wondrous,
times they spent.
She will never forget,
all the times they had.
Or how he had loved her,
like no one else had.
