Frog Prince

by Alyssa Friday   Sep 1, 2007

A princess sought a hansome prince
one fine and sunny day.
She searched the woods and castle,
checked her moat, without delay.
Sitting on a lily pad
was a green and smiling frog.
He licked his lips, and took a breath,
began a frightening dialogue.
"I am a prince," the small frog said,
with a rasping, croaking voice,
"Lean forward and I'll let you in
on a very secret choice."
The girl obeyed, and listened close
to the little squeaking thing.
"If you give me a simple kiss,
I'll give you a wedding ring."
In a fit of joy, she began to sing
and kiss the slimy frog,
but in the case of many guys,
he turned out to be a hog.
