Hope

by Samantha   Sep 1, 2007

All packed up ready to go, she left.
Rich with the smell of hairspray mixed with cheap perfume.
Her eyes sparkled, like a clear blue lake in the summertime.

Cruising, crossing the light brown meadows cascaded by the light of the beaming sun. The smooth rhythmic tunes leapt from the battered, dusty speakers and danced around to every surface of the car.

Hands, shaking with the mindset on go; along she drove around every bend and swerve of the vacant roads.
Eyes straight ahead, never shifting to look back at what she would call a nightmare, or rather her past.

The breeze flowed through her golden hair, sending a gust of warmth right through her.

Her mind pleading for some peace, to silence the constant pounding that never seemingly ceased.

Staring blank as the sun began to fade, shaping into stars stretched over the vast open sky.
And all she could do was laugh; hoping things might be of a different light this time.
