Brothers Till We Meet Again

by Aaron Deevers   Sep 1, 2007

Standing here in this rain as it falls
Feeling not a drop
Even though I have no umbrella

Standing here staring at this casket
A casket that holds my brother
The brother that I looked up to

As I stand here in this rain
I can see him smiling at me
Smiling through the black clouds

As each drop of rain hits me
I feel that God is crying for me
I have not shed one tear
But feel that the raindrops are mine

Standing here alone
Watching the men lower the casket
I say one last goodbye
Not a goodbye as we will not see each other again
But a goodbye till the next time we meet

I stick a penny on the casket
Hoping that it will bring him luck
Luck in his new life
Luck in what is to come of him

As I turn to walk away
I see him standing by a tree
It's younger version of him
Yet the funnier one at that

I hear him giggle and say I love you
As I say it back to him
He wonders off disappearing into the night

One day we will meet
Till that day I shall not forget a day we spent
Spent together as brothers and friends
I will always have a part in my heart to hold him
Hold a brother that was my best friend

Awwww. hopefully this isnt true. this is just to sad and sweet. VERY SWEET.

i did find a couple of errors though:

starring [staring, starring is like starring in a play]

    god is cry[ing]

    =]

hmmm. i think emotionally this is more of a 4.5 because i could see the pain and sorta felt it there, but to me it just wasnt as strong as the ones i read last night.

[ps thanks for adding me to your favorites. i appreciate it.]
