I LoVe YoU

by jam   Sep 1, 2007

The first moment you held me in your arms,
you thought I was the most beautiful girl in the world.
Your eyes shown with such ardent love
and you vowed to keep me safe under your gentle wing.

You thought you were blessed when I came along,
and in your eyes I could do little wrong.
You glowed with pride for the little things I achieved,
and your eyes lit with pleasure for the little gifts I gave.

You laughed when my smile radiated with happiness.
You cried when my tears overflowed in my face.
You ached everytime I slip away.
You almost died with the pain of the things I had to say.

There were times when I turned my back and hurt you,
failed you, ignored you...
When I was wrapped in my own misery.
I wasn't always the easiest person to live with,
but you always understood when nobody did.

And-
everyday, the dusk falls,
and darkness claims the sky.
When the music has stopped,
and everyone has left...

I face the night,
unmasked, vulnerable...
and I don't see anything except the light in those eyes.
The same eyes that told me she loves me,
the moment I was born.

I love you, MOM!
