Unconditional love

by Katie   Sep 2, 2007

From the day you were born,
I loved you.
When you took your first breath,
I loved you.
When I first laid eyes on you,
I loved you.

You were so, so beautiful,
So helpless and needy,
You had an ability to hold my heart,
And to steal my breath away.

You used to love being cuddled,
Held so tight, loved so much,
In that love you grew and grew,
Always staying close, you precious child.

You somehow knew how I was feeling,
And in your childlike way
Held me together, though I was falling apart,
With your love so honest and unconditional.

Over the years I've watched you grow,
Into the most wonderful child,
So inquisitive, so intelligent, so amazing,
My precious little boy.

I love you so much it hurts,
So pure and honest and true,
I couldn't love you any more,
If I had given you life myself.

You made my wedding day so special,
By carrying our rings and keeping them safe,
It was one of the proudest moments of my life,
One that I will treasure forever.

I am so proud to be your Auntie,
Proud to be a part of your life.
You know how much I love you,
"Right the way round the world" is your reply.

So my darling little boy .....

From this moment on
I will love you.
With every breath you take
I will love you.
Forever and a day, for always and in between,
I will love you.

Dedicated to my nephew who is a constant delight and whom I love very much for always.

Your nephew is lucky to have you, and to have such a positive relationship with his family. Very beautifully written, Katie. Well done. xx
