You're Gonna Pay

You're Gonna Pay

So many years my love had lingered,
For somebody kind and sweet.
So many months my heart had fluttered,
Each smile another beat.

I thought he could be mine,
I wished it with my soul;
But I guess that down the line,
Procrastination took its toll.

I told you all about those three lonesome years,
How he walked me through the journey we call life.
Hearing all his words as he wiped away my tears,
Came blessings that did heal my deep and wandering strife.

I never knew the future had sharper things to grow.
Somebody took him from my grasp,
Somebody took him on the low.
The day I knew, I felt time lasp.

You hurt me with the innocence you tried hard to conceal,
Forced open locks around his heart,
And none of it seemed real.
If only I knew from the start.

Your love surpassed the deep end,
But now you two are "over", and him and I are "in".
I don't think you should know my secret,
I hope this time I'll win.

He's my "playboy" now,
And our friendship is our "mansion",
You don't have to ask me how,
So just avoid the question.

I loved him more than anything,
My heart seemed to hold dear.
With him, there was no worrying,
And I forgot my fears.

Pain is on the bottom and love is on the top.
His jokes are little "magazines" that all come for free,
Our "bunnies" are our artwork that never seems to stop,
My laughter is his energy that helps him fill his "needs".

I think you'll have to pay now, because it is your loss,
As time grows still and wind does drop forever more.
I have him by my side, and we seem to share such thoughts,
And our bond feels so much calmer, as if like before.

I wish this January you would have tried to understand:
You're gonna pay for cheating me out of my fair share.
As we play all these silly games that seem so close at hand,
I am going to laugh at you while you try not to care.

I'm happy where I am, and maybe he is too,
For although we share some thoughts,
I'm as clueless as you.
But our bond is worth a lot.

So, how do you like it, losing to a girl?
I hope some day you'll find someone that will give you a raise,
Somebody who will cherish you and never get you hurt,
I think that soon you'll realize that you're who's gonna pay.

I like this, a lot. It was full of emotion and the imagery was just great. I was able to see the whole story perfectly with how well the words flowed and everything. Great job.
