Cold Breeze

by Aaron Deevers   Sep 2, 2007

I feel a cold breeze
Yet all the windows and doors are closed
I stand here in front of this fireplace
But still a cold breeze comes over me

I look around to see if anything is there
Then I get up to go and see if all the windows and doors are closed
I hold a blanket tight to me as I check
Yet every window and door are closed

I feel that a hand is on my shoulder
A hand that is so cold
As I turn to see who it is
I see a white, yet clear hand

As I turn to face this cold breeze
I see a man that I once knew
A man that has came back to keep me from being alone

This man who I can see through
Yet I am not scared of him
A man that once was my dad
Is now here to keep me from being alone
I feel a tear fall from my face

The next thing I know
I awake to the sun shining in my eyes
As I look around to see if he's still here
I no longer feel a cold breeze

As I get up from the floor with the fireplace still going
I see a note hanging on the wall
A note that reads:

'I hope the best from you. I came back to say my last goodbye. I am now moving on, but will watch over you. Keep you head up, as I see life before you being great. I love you my little princess, for always and ever. Daddy'

I start to cry knowing that what I thought was a dream
Was indeed not
I feel that now I can move on
Making life for me greater as he wants
I will love him and he knows that
My heart now can cope and move on

This poem is very touching. I almost cried. It is a real experience which looks like fiction and then again with a future to go on. Nice work. The message he tried to tell you is move on......
