Give Me The Coast

by Sheree Speaks   Sep 3, 2007

Sentimental roar.
Gentle blowing breeze.
Salt in my hair.
Sand on my knees.

Sea foam splashes.
The sun glitters on the waves.
The sea gulls scamper in the tide,
Almost wet, but then they're saved.

Crab carcusses along the beach.
Broken shells deep in the sand.
I carry half a sand dollar
And a peice of drift wood in my hand.

My, how I love the beach.
How I love the turquoise sea.
How I love the swash buckle locals.
The ocean is just waiting there for me.

How I love the misty air.
How I love the beach.
But when you're a city kid like me pal,
All this dream land's out of reach.
