This Was Her Life

by Crystal   Sep 3, 2007

Her tears fall like a rain that won’t stop pouring.
Each night her light fades a little dimmer.
She waits for the fate that awaits around each bend.
She cuts yet feels no pain,
This is her life,
Or at least what is left.

A strange song plays over and over in her mind,
A song she cannot describe,
She can’t even run and hide.
Beautifully fake smiles mastered,
The perfect little giggle, a lie.
This is her life.

By day she is the gorgeous blue eyed girl,
But when day turns to night, her blue eyes cry for something more.
The lies, longing, and pain remain within her baby blues.
And with those beautiful eyes she closes them tight as she wishes for a different life.
Then it’s a pull of her sharp knife to let her blood drain.
This is her life.

Her world slowly slipped away,
Her smiles and giggles gone,
Her tears no longer form,
This was her life.
