These Eyes Hold the Past.

by Brittany   Sep 3, 2007

These eyes haven't seen it all,
But they've seen enough to know,
Pain isn't beauty,
It isn't a sparkle in the sand,
A twinkle in the night sky,
It's a dark and viscious circle,
Planted inside the only part,
Capable of keeping secrets.
So from now on when my eyes dance,
Be afraid of what lies behind them,
Be blown away by the utter intensity,
Cry for the unknown hurt being faced,
And when your tears are wiped away,
Don't assume it's all better now,
These eyes know better,
Eternal wounds never heal.
Behind these green eyes,
Lay a past you may never know,
Just hold me closer to you,
And if your stare is deep enough to penetrate,
Then these eyes will spill what lay in their depths,
Emotions will finally reach sought for surface,
And the leaking tears will be wiped away,
As the past is erased.
