Remembering A Friend

by Aaron Deevers   Sep 4, 2007

I have so much to say to you
So much that would make you smile
Memories that would bring tears to your eyes

Yet today those tears fall from mine
As I stand here in front of your gravestone
I think about those memories we had together

Remembering the time we worked on a house
A house for high school building and trades
Watching you step through the dry wall
Freaking cause we had no more
Using duck tape to patch it up
All those were great times

Never saw you much after school till college
You still going for building and trades
Seeing you smiling
Saw you every now and then when we had a class together
Then I left to move on to another program

That's when everything fell apart
Woke up one morning
Usually reading the paper but not that day
When I got home mom showed me the death section

As I looked I saw that you were in there
Died at the age of only 19 years
Crashing into a semi truck

A life loss to early
A friend loss to soon
Will always remember those times
Will never forget you

~To my friend Chase Sandeen, died in 2005 from head injuries. Never will forget a newcomer to our high school who soon became a great friend. ~

    So sad
    sorry for your friend
it is a hard subject to write
    about and you excelled
