You're Just a Ghost

by I Seem to be the Heartless   Sep 4, 2007

You swore you would be there for me
Every step of the way,
That you would hold my hand
And guide me through these hard times.
Oh, how I believed every lie,
Every empty promise,
And all because I loved you.
Well, no more.
This is where the pain ends.
No more torture.
No more lies.
No more feelings of regret
That I didn't see the truth sooner.
All that's left is me,
Covered in specks of your blood.
You have hurt me for the final time.
It's funny how the tables turn,
Don't you think?
I was always the one crying,
Begging for you to love me,
And now...
Now you were the one crying,
Begging for your life.
Oh what a twist this life sometimes has.
Isn't beautiful?
No more pain!
No more tears!
No more of your lies
And empty promises.
Now, you're just a ghost,
And you can't hurt me anymore!

Wow, that was really nice. Theres anger in this and the flow was good. And in life, the tables can turn faster than you really think, what can ya say? A lot of things can happen in very little time. Well done on this. Keep it up.

Very nice. Poems that don't rhyme are always the hardest to create because they're judged on a higher standard then rhyming poems but I think you did very well 4/5
