Once I Ran To You, Now I Run From You (Triolet)

by Jenni Marie   Sep 4, 2007

Once I ran to you, now I run from you
For you suddenly changed so much
Once made me happy, then left me blue
Once I ran to you, now I run from you
Thought this was real, but you're untrue
Used to crave you, now can't stand your touch
Once I ran to you, now I run from you
For you suddenly changed so much

A Triolet is a poetic form consisting of only 8 lines. Within a Triolet, the 1st, 4th, and 7th lines
repeat, and the 2nd and 8th lines do as well. The rhyme scheme is simple: ABaAabAB, capital
letters representing the repeated lines.
