In This Corner

by Christina Yap   Sep 4, 2007

This corner,
Is my home.

Dark
Lonely
And cold

Waiting for someone to set me free
Someone who listens and understands me
But no
This person has yet to arrive

In this corner
I cry

Tear after tear
I cry

Written on these walls
Is my cry for help
And understanding
Visions of negligence and misunderstanding
Aren't visions at all
But are my past
Present
And future

Dreams of the love and happiness that I seek
Never become reality
I cannot speak
For my mouth is sealed
numb to everything
but pain
in this corner
I will remain

Someone help me
Someone please
These walls are slowly enclosing around me
They move closer everyday
Every time I feel that pain
Hurry now
Hear my cry
Please don't just pass me by
For once these walls are sealed
I'll be trapped forever
And no one can set me free
NO ONE!
EVER!

    "Visions of negligence and misunderstanding
    Aren't visions at all
    But are my past
    Present
    And future"

^^My favourite part, that really stood out to me.

This felt more like a story than a poem in some places.
I noticed you used a lot of fillers (I, and, you) etc. Try eliminating some of themto help smooth the flow out.

"And no one can set me free
    NO ONE!
    EVER!"

^^I think the use of caps takes away power of the piece...
    Maybe try something like:

"Now no one can set me free,
    Not now,
    Not ever."
